Doonbank Cottage is
located in the heart of Britain's greatest concentration of
first-grade links, including three Open Championship venues,
with courses stretching back-to-back for miles up and down a
glorious stretch of coastline.
Nearby courses include the
famous championship courses of Royal
Troon and
Turnberry,
(20-30 minutes drive from the cottage) and there is a wide
variety of other courses, to suit all levels of ability,
with prices ranging from £15 for a round at an
exceptionally good municipal course to £135 for a day
ticket at one of golf's truly great clubs.

Courses
In Ayr and Troon you'll
find some of the best municipal courses in the
country:
- Belleisle - one of the
few public courses which hosts professional tournaments
and Seafield
a combination of links and parkland are both a short walk
from Doonbank Cottage.
- The three courses of
Lochgreen,
Darley
and Fullarton
play alongside Royal Troon, Portland and Barassie to form
a group of six courses that totally surround the famous
golfing town of Troon.
- Girvan
- shares the same stunning views towards Ailsa Craig as
its famous neighbour, Turnberry.
